Jackson

This handsome little man, is our oldest grandson, Jackson. He just turned five in November.

He loves to help bake, his  kind of baking, that is! He has his own little mixture of flour, flour, and more flour!

On the day I snapped this picture, Jackson made me smoothies, with this concoction.....did I mention, his imagination, is something else?

We have a routine when he bakes, hence no shirt. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, the shirt comes off (that way he isn't TOO messy when he goes home!).....We started this, probably when he was about two and half years old. So in the beginning, he had a blast but Marmy(that's me) didn't----I had to clean the mess up! Now, he cleans up the counter, washes his dishes (he LOVES washing dishes), gets the broom out, and after sweeping, mops the floor!

You know, his daddy and Uncle, used to do this too. Back then though, all I could think of, was how long was it going to take me to get the kitchen back in order.

Now all  I think of is.....I'm gonna miss this, mess and all, stop growing up my spirited little man, Jackson.....

And below are some close ups, of the delightful vignettes on the stand.

This a Valentine's Day card from a girl, in my son Clark's class.....circa 1998ish.

.....and a few boxes from my collection.
Did you save your Valentines from your childhood, or perhaps your children's? Thanks for stopping by!

Lamp Shade Make Over

I've had these shades for a few years, and decided it was time for a re-do.

How about some feathers to it? I had originally bought these  fluffy white feathers for some Christmas ornaments...that didn't happen!

A glue gun, feathers, and ten minutes, and a whole new look!
Do you have things in your house, that you use everyday, and one day it hits you, "That needs a change!"? Tell me about it! Thanks for stopping by!
