Let Laying Lions Lay....

Here is one of the two lions that sit a top our brick pillars. When we bought the house, there was nothing on the pillars. We found these at a tag sale right down the road from us, about a year after we moved in. Of coarse I wanted to buy them the first day, but I held out that they'd be there on the last day, which we all know is 1/2 OFF DAY!!!

And the sleeping lions awoke!!!

Oh, and I see Steve is waving!
I've looked at the lion's for three years now, always thinking something was missing. But I'm the kinda girl, that likes MOST things that I acquire, in it's original patina. I really just thought that's how I should leave her majesty's.....TIL....it just came to me, on Sunday as we were raking leaves...The lion gates, must be painted.....cream! It wasn't the chipping paint that was bad, it was that it was WHITE chipping paint, not CREAM chipping paint!

Lesson here: It might take a while for all the pieces and parts to come together. Sometimes the smallest change have the biggest impact! I've already had people ask what I did different to them...that's the biggest complement. It's been changed, everyone knows it, but no idea what the change is!
