Garage Sale!!!

This is what happens when I think too much! I start thinking about how, maybe a different color would look better in the den . Which leads to every other room in the house changing color. Which lends itself to thinking about how none of the curtains will match..or the rugs... or the accessories....

Maybe I don't want to collect wooden boxes anymore either...

Yeah, I  start wondering about pink, instead of red....well, don't need those lamp shades anymore then,....OK, lets have a garage sale!!

That leads to asking a good friend , if she wants to go in on it with me....

And somewhere in all of that, is....how should we arrange the tables? What color table clothes should we put on the tables?

And we just can't price our one of a kind treasures , with Walmart garage sales stickers. And how are we going to tell our stuff,  priceless pieces, apart from each other, at the end of the sale when we go to count all of our money?

And really, are we just going to put our gems on a table, without some thought as to how they should be displayed?

And maybe the hardest thing, as we each unpacked our carefully and oh so loved items, was restraining ourselves from grabbing the others junk, uhh, awesome accessories for ones self.

My friend, Kim, had an idea:  we would limit ourselves to four things each from each other's piles! That worked!

So in the end....We color coordinated all of our items, as to look like it would, if you had walked  into shop. We dressed up the dining room table that was for sale, complete with dishes, cloth napkins, glasses, candlesticks, table cloth, and a centerpiece, all for sale. It looked just like it would be, if you had set the table for dinner. We made our own price tags, hers were yellow, mine were beige,  hole punched our tag, and strung twine through it. That way, we could talk with people who stopped by, and didn't need to waste time writing down every item that sold. At the end of the day, we knew how much we sold, and who sold what, by the colored tags. We didn' t have much left when the sale was over, and what we did have left Kim put in her etsy store,  http:// www.etsy.com/shop/LilysGreenCrown  .  When you have a chance, please check out her store! We laughed, we talked, we met SO many nice people, all and all it was a great time!  AND that's how you have a garage sale....when your mind starts thinking too much!!
